Only 2 more weeks until Valentine's Day! Here's a romantic painting (1913) of two dancers by Marie Laurencin. One of very few female Cubist painters and a close friend of Georges Braque, she lived in Paris for most of her life, focusing on the lives of women in her art. The muted colors and geometric forms are, of course, hallmarks of Cubism, but she added her own lyricism and sense of human warmth.
